In an RVI, the landlord walks through the unit with a smartphone while the inspector watches via Zoom/FaceTime.

• Battery: Ensure your phone is 100% charged.
• Tools: Bring a tape measure, outlet tester, and flashlight. The inspector will tell you "Plug in the tester" or "Measure that window."
• Speed: These are often faster than in-person visits, but require you to be the hands and eyes.
